We have been in Denham Springs, LA for the last few days. This is our spot to stop over when we are on the way to Florida to visit my family. Normally we only stay one night but we decided to stay for a few days and check out the area. They went through a serious flood last year and they are still trying to recover. We were surprised to see that some of the businesses have not yet reopened. The Shell station that we normally fill up at is still closed, some restaurants have closed and don’t appear to be reopening.
We talked with one of the workers at the RV park and he was telling us about the extent of the flooding in the area. Denham Springs is outside of Baton Rouge and there is a river that runs through the area and apparently it floods sometimes but last years flood was the very severe.
