B and D – On the Road

Pensacola

We have now moved to Pensacola so we would be here for my mother’s 93rd birthday. Had a call from Georgiana today, her voice is a little weak but it was great being able to actually talk with her.

It has turned very cold here, been down in the teens several mornings and some days it did not even get above freezing during the day. Had a good chance to visit with family, had a party for my mother on her birthday, had dinner at my brothers one night and we all met up for dinner at a restaurant on my birthday. The first week here we stayed at the Pensacola RV park. We have been staying there for years. It is not one of those big parks with all kind of amenities, most of which we never use. It has been interesting to watch how it has changed over the years. It has gotten larger as they opened up other spots, they built a pavilion for holding activities, then they started selling propane for those that need it. They have also built a big privacy fence between the park and the nursery next door. They have lots of pretty big old oak trees in the park. They have not gotten into online reservations yet, you still have to call them and they just confirm over the phone, don’t even send a confirmation. We enjoy the park and this is where we normally stay. When in Florida we sometimes stay over on the beach and a few times at a KOA in Milton. The Pensacola RV Park is the most convenient to all my family.

Had a noisy family next to us, we referred to them as the door slammers. Every time they came in and out they slammed their door. We know it was not necessary to slam the door as we saw someone from the park come out of their RV one day and she just pushed the door closed. He was also a very loud talker, he would stand by his RV and try to carry on a conversation with someone 2 or 3 slots away.
