B and D – On the Road

Magnolia and Thanksgiving

We moved back to the RV park we stayed at while selling our house and will stay here until close to Christmas. In fact we are parked in the same spot we were in when we left here earlier this year. I was a little concerned because the lady that was next to us before would leave her dog tied up outside and he would leave his piles of poop as close to our RV as his rope would let him and she did not clean it up. She apparently was a long term resident here and friends with the people that ran the park. Her RV was still there but she is no longer here and someone was cleaning it out and a few days after we got here someone came and took it away. A couple of days later and older couple moved into the slot. Apparently not good at parking the fifth wheel, he was driving. Bruce crazy with his attempts to get it parked. Finally the man working here got in their truck and parked it for him. They then moved the small porch and steps up to the fifth wheel so I guess they will be here awhile. In fact a few days later they left in their truck and came back in a new car so guess they have no plans for moving the fifth wheel again.

The evening we got here we picked up our other Explorer from our daughter and then Bruce drove back up to Tyler the next day to check on Jerry and Georgiana. She is still going through a rough time.

We went to Bruce’s sister’s home for Thanksgiving with much of his family. After dinner Bruce, Heather and I drove up to Tyler to check on Georgiana and Jerry. That made for a very long day, especially for Heather as it takes about an hour for her to get to our RV park before we then drive to Willis where Pam lives. Then it is around 3 hours to get to Tyler. I think we go back to the RV around midnight.

Spent part of Friday with Heather getting her Christmas tree decorated. We decorated some in the coach, but no Christmas tree, not enough room. We also put a swag on the outside of the coach.

Being back in the area gave us a chance to visit with Heather several times and go back to our home church. Also gave Heather a chance for me to cook some of the things she has missed me cooking for her. Also gave her several chances for us to take her out to eat to places she likes. Also got her to make me some homemade cinnamon crescent rolls.

While back around Magnolia we managed to catch up on doctors appointments and start the process of looking for land to build our new home. Did another trip up to Tyler to check on Jerry and Georgiana, stayed overnight in a hotel this time so we would not be so tired. Georgiana has had more surgeries and has dealt with numerous issues.

Had some snow while back here. It started one night while we were out to dinner with Pam up in Willis and most the drive back to Magnolia was either in snow or sleet. When we got Pam back to her subdivision she had us go down to the boat launch area. Bruce and Pam walked out to the end of the dock in the snow, I stayed in the car. I am glad I was not driving home, I don’t like driving in the dark and with the sleet and snow coming down it make the driving a little more dangerous.
