B and D – On the Road

Willis and Christmas

We have now moved to an RV park on Lake Conroe near where Bruce’s sister lives. We will be staying there until we leave for Florida in January. We are parked backed up to the lake, you look out my bedroom window and you are looking down at the water. Bruce had to back the RV in my himself and get it set up. We needed to get the new tag for the RV so on the way to Lake Conroe we stopped and had the RV inspected and then I took the paperwork with me to go get the tag and then pick up a few groceries while Bruce drove on to the park. We have to get the tag in the same county where the RV is registered so needed to pick it somewhere in Harris county since it is registered with Heather’s address.

We have had lots of pretty sunsets while here.

Interesting family parked in the slot to our left, they apparently have 4 kids, ranging in age from a boy that looks to be around 5 to a girl in her mid teens. The man is very unfriendly, Bruce has tried to speak to him but he does not respond. They apparently helped themselves to the picnic table at our site as they have two tables and we have none. Everyone else in the park has a table. We said something to the office and when we got back one day we had a table and they only had one table. They are a bit noisy running in and out, sounds like they spend a lot of time stomping around inside their RV. They left the day before Christmas and were gone about a week. Came back for a day and then left again. They left the water turned on to their RV, apparently did not pay attention to the weather predictions. We had several days of freezing weather then it finally warmed up. When we came out the next morning Bruce noticed a big puddle under their RV. I walked to the other side of their RV to check and discovered that water was spraying out from their water filter. I guess it froze and split somewhere so when it thawed the water started pouring out. I refused to wade through all the water and mud that had been created to turn off the water, we just let the office know and they said they would call them and see when they would be back. Someone came at some point and turned it off. The couple on the other side of us are friendly but they left towards the end of our stay here. They however did have the sense to winterize their RV. Bruce had talked with him when he was working on getting it ready. I guess they don’t plan on staying in it for awhile as they were flushing out the water lines.

We spent Christmas at Pam’s house, just a short drive from the RV park, might take us 5 minutes to get to her place.
