B and D – On the Road

Raptor Show

One of the recreation activities provided at the Glacier KOA is to attend a Wild Wings Recovery Birds of Prey Presentation that is given on Thursday night. It is put on by Montana Will Wings Recovery Center. They are a non profit organization that is a wildlife rehab center. Birds that can’t be released back into the wild because of their injuries are kept there and used in educational activities.

We attended the presentation on the last night we stayed at the park. It was very interesting, they gave you the history of each of the birds they had brought with them, how they were injured and why they could not be released and how long they had been living at the center.

Most of the birds had wing injuries and one was partially blind. They are all fed the type of food they would have in the wild, the only difference being that their food is not alive when it is given to them.
